Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Review: Design

The new Samsung Galaxy S21 ultra 5G is heavier than the previous models (Galaxy S20 series), it weighs 227 grams with 165.1 by 75.6 by 8.9 mm dimensions. The phone is also slimmer as compared to S20 Ultra.

The S21 Ultra has a matte black color, which is my personal favorite color for the phone. Although, it has five colorways include Phantom Silver, Phantom Black, Phantom Navy, Phantom Brown, and Phantom Titanium.

It has thin bezels which make the gaming and watching movie experience magnified. The phone is covered by Gorilla Glass Victus protection with a Quad camera setup.

The S21 Ultra 5G has a 6.8-inches Dynamic AMOLED display, which is smaller than the Galaxy S20 Ultra, but it has a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate screen. Moreover, the phone can automatically dial back to low refresh as 10Hz to save battery life.

We also get to see a 1440p QHD resolution screen which makes your video watching experience more enhanced. The display of the phone is a little curved, which I personally loved. The screen is vibrant in the sun also has around 1,500 nits, which is incredible.

We also get to see a bigger under-display fingerprint sensor than the previous year, which is too comfortable. We haven’t seen the speed for the fingerprint sensor is increased, as we feel it is the same.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Review: Cameras

The S21 Ultra is doing a very great job in the camera section this year. As the phone is packed with a Quad Camera setup, which includes 108-megapixel 24mm (wide), 10-megapixel 240mm (periscope telephoto), 10-megapixel 70mm (telephoto), and 12-megapixel 13mm (ultrawide). And also a single punch-hole cutout selfish camera of 40-megapixel 26mm (wide).

The phone’s rear camera allows you to capture 8k video at 30 fps, and the 4k video recording from the front camera. The feature for the rear camera includes auto HDR, panorama, LED flash, HDR10+, and etc. While the front camera features include auto HDR and Dual video calls.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Review: Performance

Let’s move to the main thing the performance of the S21 Ultra. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 888 chipset for US customers and Exynos 2100 for reset of the world. And we get two RAM choices from 12GB and 16GB of RAM with 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB of internal storage choices.

According to Tom’s Guide benchmark reports, the S21 Ultra 5G scored 3,440 on multicore test and 1,123 on single-core in Geekbench 5. And on the official site of Geekbench, we can see 951 scores on single-core and 3,151 on multicore. These overall results are very good for an Android flagship smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Review: Battery

The Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G has a 5,000mAh battery with 25W of fast charging support. According to GSMArena battery life tests on S21 Ultra 5G shows, that the phone will long for 35:32 hours for talk time only, 15:04 hours for web browsing only, and 17:53 hours for video playback only.

The phone doesn’t come with a charger in the box which was a little disappointing, so you have to buy a 25W fast charging brick to charge your phone at fast charging.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Review: Features

Photo by Anh Nhat on Unsplash

The S21 Ultra comes with S-Pen stylus support which makes it the first smartphone in S-series to have this feature. You don’t get it in built-in the S21 Ultra, as in the Note series. However, you buy one for the S21 Ultra 5G and get and case to keep the S-pen in it.

You get a large ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, with pair of stereo speakers at the bottom which sounds fantastic. We also get Bluetooth 5.2 which will make Bluetooth connectivity more advance and your wireless earphone will also sound better.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra is one of the first smartphones to get WiFi-6E which will make your Wi-Fi connectivity more strong.

And also, you get an IP68 rating doe dust and water resistance, which means that your phone is now protected by dust and water as well.
